READ Foundation is a non-profit and non-governmental organization working for the provision of quality education in Pakistan. Since its inception in 1994, READ Foundation has remained unwavering in its commitment to catalyzing positive change by strengthening humanity through education. The organization began its transformative journey from humble beginnings, establishing its very first school in the small town of Riala, located in the Bagh district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. With just one teacher, one classroom, 25 students, and a modest sum of Rs. 25,000, READ Foundation planted the first seeds of learning and hope.
Over the years, supported by the generosity of compassionate individuals, philanthropic organizations, and socially responsible citizens, READ Foundation has grown into one of Pakistan’s leading educational networks. What started as a small initiative has now become a powerful movement dedicated to changing lives, especially those of orphaned and underprivileged children.
Education lies at the heart of READ Foundation’s mission. The organization firmly believes that education is not only a fundamental right but also the most effective tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. Orphaned children, in particular, face immense challenges—loss of family support, financial instability, and emotional hardship. READ Foundation provides these children with more than just schooling; it offers care, guidance, and a pathway toward a dignified and self-reliant future.
Today, READ Foundation operates 400 schools across Pakistan, providing quality education to more than 135,000 students. This vast network is supported by 6,500 dedicated teachers who play a vital role in shaping young minds and nurturing confidence, character, and resilience. Among these students are 13,000 orphan children who are currently receiving education, care, and hope through the Foundation’s programs.
The impact of READ Foundation’s work is reflected in its success stories. To date, over 23,000 orphan students have successfully passed out from READ Foundation schools and moved on to higher education, professional careers, and independent lives. These individuals are now contributing members of society, proving that with the right support, even the most vulnerable children can achieve their dreams.
READ Foundation’s influence extends beyond classrooms. By supporting education, the organization also uplifts families and communities. Currently, 8,000 families are benefiting directly from READ Foundation’s initiatives, experiencing improved stability, awareness, and opportunities for growth. When a child is educated, entire families and communities are empowered.
Supporting an orphan’s education through READ Foundation is not merely an act of charity—it is an investment in the future of Pakistan. It is a commitment to building a society where every child, regardless of circumstance, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
Together, we can continue to change lives through learning. By supporting READ Foundation, you become part of a journey that began with a single classroom and has grown into a nationwide force for hope, dignity, and lasting change
